I am a sleeping gnome
I am an animal I no longer recognize
my convertible Chevy days lying back in the dust
I barely remember young me
….cotton candy me, heroine me, lively me
we are an old woman now, a sleeping gnome
an obese dragon who is dragg’n
I was going to scale skyscrapers in a single bound
rescue those in desperate need
but I never found them
I sleep the sleep of a corpulent Rubenesque soldier
who was never the pirate queen she set out to be
