I Am

I've heard the birds chirp for a while now,
seen the rain fall for ages,
tried all the food there is,
been to different countries,
yet still the one thing that isn't known to me is me.
I've never heard myself,
I've only listened what others have to say.
The only thing I've ever seen is my relfection.
Who am I to say who I am?

This is truly one of my favorite poems I ever read! So much depth! We are something way beyond what can be touched felt heard or seen. We are the thing that sings inside us when we see beautiful mountains. We are the thing that yearns for G-d. We are the thing that loves!

That's always the big question isn't it? How am I, who am I? Why is it always easier to understand others, and so hard to understand oneself? Welcome to PoetrySoup
