Notes About The Poem

AND I SAY TO YOU DO NOT FEAR THOSE WHO CAN KILL THE BODY AND AFTER THAT HAVE NO MORE THAT THEY CAN DO, BUT I WILL WARN YOU WHO TO FEAR.

FEAR THE ONE WHO AFTER HE HAS KILLED HAS THE AUTHORITY TO CAST INTO HELL. YES I TELL YOU, FEAR HIM. ARE NOT FIVE SPARROWS SOLD FOR TWO CENTS?  YET NOT ONE OF THEM IS FORGOTTEN BEFORE GOD. INDEED THE VERY HAIRS OF YOUR HEAD ARE ALL NUMBERED. DO NOT FEAR. YOU ARE OF MORE VALUE THAN MANY SPARROWS AND I SAY TO YOU THAT EVERYONE WHO CONFESSES ME BEFORE MEN  THE SON OF MAN WILL CONFESS HIM ALSO BEFORE THE ANGELS OF GOD; BUT HE WHO DENIES ME BEFORE MEN, SHALL BE DENIED BEFORE THE ANGELS OF GOD.

                                                                                                       Luke 12:4-9

I Am

I am, and I shall always be,
For Mankind was created in God's own image;
And there are certain privileges that come with this blessing.
The right to call Him My Father is one of them.

I am His and He is mine,
For He reached out to me in my desolation,
Offering me the gift of His acceptance and eternal life.
With joy in my heart and great relief I accepted His wondrous gift;

For to come freely before Him in prayer,
Not only delights me, but Him also.
He is pleased to hear my praises and supplications.
His patience, love and boundless forgiveness are a balm to my wounded spirit.

He clothes me in His righteousness,
And shelters me from the storm 'neath His wings.
He strengthens me and gives me courage,
That the trials of this world shall not keep me down.

Satan would take all this from me,
If I would listen to his words of discouragement;
But I am a Child of God.
I have but to call His Name and He is here beside me.

His angels surround me and mine,
With an invincible wall of fire and I am not afraid.
Even Death has no power over me,
For He has conquered it for me.

Though this body withers and dies,
I shall continue on,
For My Father will send His Messenger for me,
And I will bask in the Glory of My God and My Father forever.
