I Am

(half free verse/half rhyme) I am one- an individual. No one else shares my soul; I’m glad to be uniquely me! I am many- daughter, sister, wife, mother. Half the world plays my role; my heart is full. I am all- children of God whose school is life. Beneath the sun all are one! I am few- a special group with a common bond among humanity; friends in poetry! For the Happiness of Life Poetry Contest of Nayda Ivette Negron

"I am few- a special group with a common bond among humanity; friends in poetry!" Andrea, your last stanza above is so aptly put and how I would imagine most of us enchanted with poetry feel. A wonderful entry that is sure to do well. P.S. You haven't heard from me because I am ill with the flu. It is my first day trying to be out of bed for a spell. Blessings, Connie

Poetry can make you a lot of friends. I attend readings in New York and know plenty of poets who also attend . It is a good profession(don't take that seriously). What did youthink of my poem "Death - like a sweet angel"? No one has commented on it as of yet and I was thinking of deleting it but I would value your opinion on it. Peace & Love Matthew Anish

What a lovely creative Poem you have placed with so much to ponder. Your Poem has a glimpse of the great words, which came out in our Holy Gita, When Lord Krishna says to his disciple Arjun, Look at me, you will see the whole Universe (Brahma) in me, I am the creator and the destroyer of this Universe from me everything emerges and ultimately in me every thing get absorbed. Great lines my friend. I mentioned it only because after reading your Poem that idea came. Merry Christmas..Ravindra.A D
