I

I am but a man
I am not an evil man
But I am an angry man
I am mad at the world for the way it is
For what it does to us and each other
I am mad there is no justice
At least none that I see
I am mad at the world
For what it has done to me
I am mad at myself
For what I have become, because of the world
I am not an evil man
But I am a mad man
I am angry at my weakness
Powerless to stop it all
I am just one who understands
That this is all wrong
And very far from right
I am but one
Quickly losing sight
I am not an evil man
But an angry man looking toward the light
Hoping, dreaming, wishing, praying………………….
I just want things right
Is all I’m saying
Loving, laughing, playing, living…………………….
The simple joy in random giving
Holding, hugging, kissing, sharing………………….
Is all part of our natural caring
We are a race
Who are in a race……………of survival
I am not an evil man
I am just angry at the way we treat each other
Because were all we’ve got

Eric (and sometimes not)

I agree with you James, I myself feel sorry for the youth of our future. It deeply saddens me the world we leave for them. I only pray they will have the fortitude and wisdom to change it for the better.

Thank you for the words Vince, the country has and will remain BUSH whacked for years to come unfortunately and it is only going to get worse sadly, but I am keeping hope and a loaded glock close at all times wishing the former prevails. Take care

Congratulations Eric on "I" being featured. Our voices need to be loud to be heard over the political garbage coming out of both parties. The country has been "BUSH" whacked. What can I say? God Bless. Vince

Thank you for the invitation HG, I am glad you see such beauty in this world. I do see some of it as well but not a nearly as much as I would like to. Though there's more beauty in nature than in people. Thank you for your thoughts I appreciate them.

Wow Yoni a comparison to Marshall, very nice and he's from my hometown to boot, kudos to me. Thank you Yoni all of this material was written long ago and wasn't published till 2004. I am writing new material all the time which will be in my 2nd book so the material your reading is at least 10 yrs old if not older. I hope to have my new book out this year but its so expensive to have anything other than a chapbook printed. I guess that's why were called "starving" artists. Good to hear from you
