Hunger Warning

Hunger Warning

Family and friends are first to go
Then the teeth and hair
Weight loss due to hunger
Is guaranteed
Begging for food is against the law
In most communities
Hunger is not a crime but should be
I’m looking for my other shoe
Something delectable to chew on
If you have it bring it back
I licked it in the morning
Who knows what you might contract
From someone as low as me
Return it please and let me starve in peace

Hi Linda. Thank you. I'm glad you liked it. No. No contest. I think hunger is a great subject in need of airing. I'm simply experimenting with it. A couple of minutes ago I completed the 3rd. in my series of hunger poems. I will publish it in a few moments. The one coming out right now is called "Hunger Artist." I was influenced by Franz Kafka and Knut Hamsen "Hunger" I own the book. Good luck trying to find it in the U.S. It is illegal to own or read this book in our country....Funny!...The land of the free. Thanks again. Have a great day. Earl
