Hunger For Life

This life beholds a promise…night awaits When frosted snows are memories of past And charm of May adorns our garden gates, While tending flowers, spring returns at last! Dusk lingers on, the moon a brighter blue, Emerald the grassland instead of hay My journals toss , as August flares anew-- Yet I drain paper and ink by the shore. For in summer , wrinkled hands uncover Quaint pebbles, the campfire… all lusty days to think about, as my stories hover: A moment to thirst for breath’s passion, ablaze. Though seasons unfurl their immortal dance I’ll embrace old age , chasing time’s romance. Written for My Muse, Mortal Contest ( Sonnet) Sponsor: Gregory R Barden 6/25/2018

I like your idea of adapting to the situation, yeah every single second life is becoming shorter and shorter, if we started to worry, we will not be able to enjoy it, just embrace old age as everything brings something special with it, maybe for some people old age might be bad,in fact for many, but if they don't like it, that doesn't mean that it will not come, it is going to come, whether accept it happily or not, so the best thing is to be happy and accept it, good luck

Embracing old age seems like a good idea, because we cannot fight it anyway. I enjoyed your poem, Nette.

The perfect age is not a year, but a mind set. It's living in the present. My favorite age is today. That being said you paint the seasons in ways I could sit and stare, contemplating all the glory of a rich past. But Im learning to breathe in the "now". And so glad you're writes are a part of that!

Yes indeed The Bible tells us in Proverbs 16:31 "The hoary head is a crown of glory if it be found in the way of righteousness." My mom would never admit to her age until she was old enough to draw Social Security. She was 37 longer than anyone I have ever known. From that I learned to accept my age and admit to it. I figure it took me so long to get this way I deserve credit for it. ;) A fine write. Loved it. God Bless and thanks for your kind words. JB
