Hunger

Hunger, like rain on a sweltering day, in form of gentle drops, itself precipitates, then intensifies to stay. Relentlessly it pounds me, falling furious and fast. Sated, I sense its slow to pitter pat, an interminable summer storm's mere lapse. 2010 For Line Gauthier's Bite Size Poem No23 Poetry Contest

Hunger is a problem. I am trying to lose weight and believe me it is difficult. I like the metaphor you used in the poem. You should come to New York - there are poetry readings every day of the week. I go often - but not as often as I used to. I am going to see Iron Man II tomorrow. Were you a comic book fan as a kid? Hi Andrea, thanks for stopping by & reading my 'Tea for Two'. Really enjoyed your descriptive hunger rhyme, especially how it 'intensifies to stay'. Nice alliteration too. Good luck in the contest.

The Sunken Cathedral got me a 7th place in the first contest I entered on the soup. Way back when I won a college contest with the poem $20.00. A twenty was not bad in those days. Catch ya later. The heat has me laying a bit low - fan just a foot away from my body. Love, Dave

I sensed that your poem might have other meaning, Andrea, but no matter the meaning, I am that BEAST! I like this piece better the second time. The first time was great too. Love, Dave

Andrea...I had to read some of the comments to see if I had a grip on this poem of yours...to me, it is one who is hungering. Hope I didn't read it wrong, and I'm certain you'll let me in on this one ! *smiles* james

Did be da kinda hunger I feel, Andrea, an unnatural, savage urge to eat. "Itself precipitates then intensifies to stay." I like that, beast that I am. Love, Dave

It gives a fine tone to internal rhyming though not in total. Nice expressions. Good luck in the contest
