Hummingbird Arse
My mother always told me growing up
“Don’t let your humming bird **** get
Your alligator mouth in trouble”
I never thought anything about it then
I took it as a warning not to say what was on my mind~
There are people in society who stay “in line”
Those who don’t care to draw attention to issues
People who are afraid to be in the spotlight
I am simply an outspoken woman
I am straightforward and boldly confident
I speak out when I see an unwarranted wrong
I am me, and when I speak up to offend wrongdoers
To keep them from continuing to do wrong
Unreasonable authorities feel they must stop me
These influential people see me as a threat
I act on my conscience and say what I must
If some don’t like my boisterousness…..
I fear the waters will be rough~
They can do their best to keep me down
But ….
I will not sway from my God given strength
I fear intimidators who wish me meek
Are up for a battle ...I will always speak!
Because I am proud
I shant change my ways~
Mother may have been a meager woman
Doing what she was expected ....
.....by staying in line
She tried teaching me not to rock the boat
By egregiously keeping me under control
Yet .....I am not her…. I am a hummingbird all grown
