Human is it to humour
If lesser chimps bow, trail alpha male’s tail,
A filly fawns on husky horny stags,
Show willing hinds to a dominant male,
And paupers if please podgy money-bags,
Man, an attired ape, bows to brawn and brain,
Piles pains ‘pon him to please power-wielding pelf,
A smarmy spoon knows not enough restrain,
And flatters far down to his puny self.
If a man no whit more than a proud toad
Pretends to be an alpha lion king,
He knows more than enough, it's far too odd,
A cat as cringes in a circus ring.
To bow to hefty weight as human is,
Humouring the lofty heights so does please.
