How Was Your Summer
How was your summer, said the cashier
At the checkout counter.
Then later that day the radio guys
Are talking that way…talk about
Winterizing the yard & the car,
Pick up the yard, rake some leaves,
Ain’t mowing, no more put it away.
Pick up the hoses and sprinklers till next year.
Our summer is fading
Leaves are changing.
Darker and darker every day gets…
A cover for winter slipping in through the night.
Cooler and colder, it gets,
Molting our days into winter.
The ‘S’ word is coming out
From the mouths of winter--haters and lovers.
Soon the changing of the tires…
All I know is that we better get some Snow…
I know this guy that will drive me crazy-
If no snow machine riding he will do.
