How Sweet

I tasted only once
but my tongue is here
stuck out waiting
wanting more tastes

How sweet it is, my dear
the thing you gave me
is not from this earth
its sweetness not normal

I sit here impatiently
waiting, hungry for it
let my tongue get it again
so that it goes to rest

Tell me secrets of the thing
so forever I get it for myself
Once in my eager hands
I’ll be deliberately selfish
