cuz, ion’t, dem, whatcha, make groceries, uon’t, boocoo, earl, bouta, weddey, baby…
imma - Imma call you later. You going with her? No, imma go with Lisa
TRANSLATION - I will
burl - I’m bouta burl me a egg ta go with my salad
TRANSLATION - boil
uca - Uca hand me da remote? Oh, uca turn dat light off
TRANSLATION - you can
sheon’t - Sheon’t know what she talkin’ bout
She can cook, but sheon’t know how ta make gumbo
TRANSLATION - she does not
heebie - Man, heebie trippin’ I heard heebie sleepin’ by Kim

deygon - Dey said, deygon send me a email
You going with dem ta da movies? No, deygon go by dey self
TRANSLATION - they will
fitna - No, she fitna leave inner few. I’m fitna go take a bath

who dat - Who dat is on the phone?
Who dat said deygon beat dem Saints?
TRANSLATION - who that
cuz - What ya did dat fa? Cuz I felt like it
TRANSLATION - because
ion't - He like you, so, ion't like him. I'm hungry, ion't know what to eat
TRANSLATION - I do not
dem - Girl dem shoes ugly
Don’t come by me, go over dere by dem
TRANSLATION - them
whatcha - Whatcha doin’? nothin’ much. So whatcha gon’ tell yo mom when you get home?
TRANSLATION - what are you
make groceries - Where you goin’? I’m bouta go make groceries
(This is DEFINITELY a New Orleans thing)
In New Orleans, we go make groceries, other places, dey go grocery shopping and that’s just the way it is!
TRANSLATION - Go to the store and buy a LOT of food, more than just milk and bread. Usually done once or twice a month
uon’t - Boy go sit down, uon’t know howda dance
See dere, you need ta be quiet, uon’t even know what ya talkin’ bout
TRANSLATION - you do not
boocoo - Dey got boocoo stuff in dere ta eat
Man, that dude had boocoo money on him
TRANSLATION - plenty
earl - Tomorrow I’m goin’ get a earl change
You kno’ you need cookin’ earl ta fry dat chicken huh?
TRANSLATION - oil
bouta - I’m bouta go to work
Girl, he keep playin’ on my phone, I’m bouta block him
TRANSLATION - about to
weddey - You goin’ with dem, why weddey goin’? So weddey moving to?
TRANSLATION - where are they
Baby - Thank ya baby. You want this? No baby, I’m good, uca have it
Baby please! Baby you could NEVER! Nah baby, I ain’t da one
TRANSLATION - Baby is often said and can be used in any form
BABY is also DEFINITELY a New Orleans thing!

So yeah… dat was only a few of the many words used in New Orleans!
