How Could You Know

How could you know?
How could you possibly understand?
My heart yearns…
My heart burns…
Famished and fainting
Waiting….
For a glance
For a word
Written by your hand
No, you can’t understand

How could you?
Intensity is unknown to you
Emotions so raw
So demanding
Emption so deep
That it could swallow
The Mariana Trench
And not be satisfied
How could you understand?

Ah…what’s the use?
As much as I want you
To the same degree
Of mad obsession…
I pity you….
For what is life
Without being lost
Crushed and tossed
In the tempestuous sea
Your breath knocked out
Your body dipped and churning
In the liquid ecstasy
Of realized fantasy!

How could you understand?
These surges
These relentless urges
The pulling and tugging
The coaxing to swell
Of the moon of my heart
On the tide of your body?
For I cannot reveal
What I feel
How could you know?

I pity you…
Yes, and yet I adore you
I could crash over you
Render you senseless
I could please you
Make you breathless
I could possess you
Make you defenseless
Once you've tasted me
I guarantee
You’ll give up here and now
And fast forward to eternity

How could you understand?
How could you possibly know?
My love’s constant flow
The passion I cannot show

How…oh how could you know!

Not entirely sure what Drake means by subtle. It seemed quite passionate to me! This just goes to show that our own personal bubbles gotta be popped now and then. So that we may KNOW even if in the smallest ways... powerful is a word that comes to mind when i read this.

Powerful is good. I like powerful! I'm POWER MAD!!! Naw...just teasing. I think Drake wasn't referring to the passion of the poem, but rather to the inspiration behind it....We never can really know what inspired a poet though we can guess at the inner meanings. People often tried to relate Shakespeare's work to specific events in his life...but you can never be absolutely sure the person it refers to, yea...I'm Shakespeare. HA HA!

Very passionate indeed. The question mark on my response was suppose to be an exclamation mark. I can see how it would be confusing.
