How a Reader Became a Reader

How A Reader Became A Reader by Kenny Davis You know, I've never been Much of a reader of things All of these articles, novels Books or magazines Though whenever I read The words would flow off my lips But it was the thrill of this skill I've always failed to grip That is until the day My eyes crossed the page Written by a woman I love Hanging on the words she would say Front and back Day by day I would read it over again As if the words would change I would be bored to death reading Works by those who weren't worth to mention Until something was written by an interest of mine A woman, a love who caught my eye, my attention Her words, to be dripping with passion Each line, designed to unravel me Made my imagination run wild My mind, my heart, traveling free Though beyond this letter, this message I never read much Having an overwhelming feeling in reading In hopes our hearts may touch It was an interest in literature In which I would always fail Until I would read that of the one I love Playing a vital role in our fairy tale Yet to have read since I was young That of Mother Goose's rhymes Until I was reading the glory of our epic love story Being written to stand the test of time. Though many of these fables and tales May whither away, in times of old This reader became so by reading a letter Of the greatest love story ever told. Literature and manuscripts All of which always failed to interest me However, this reader is now a reader When I can read letters from my love such as these © December 2014 k.davis
