What Does It Mean If a Sparrow Flies Into Your House?

In Indonesia, it is believed by some that if a sparrow flies into a house, a member of the household will soon marry or give birth. In China, some say that a sparrow flying into a house indicates that good luck is on the way in a more general sense.

Opened my pantry door to go out to the garage this morning and had a little sparrow fly into my kitchen. I got luck and it flew between the window and the blind. Called little brother that lives next door to help me catch him and release it back outside.

Hi Eve, I would have loved to witness such a scene. Thanks for sharing it with us. I didn’t know that the sparrow flying into one’s house meant luck in China. Perhaps luck is on the way. Have a great evening, my friend:-) Alexis

Wow Eve so lucky that you got good inspiration from the sparrow. I have had experiences of pigeons two or three of them entering into the house, several years back. It's lovely, at the same time had a tough time to get them out safely. Hugs ~ Ani

Eve, lovely haiku, I had an experience once where a hummingbird landed on my sleeve, I don't know how common that is but I felt truly blessed, I stood perfectly still and waited for it to leave, but it stayed for a bit _Constance

Yes it was that was the reason I was able to retain him till my little brother got there to help me with him. I’ve had that happen before but loose in the house takes forever to get them out

So many birds die of the cold in winter. Yet they still want to be free. ~~
