Hello, my friend. It's me, hope,
From the earth's dizzying height,
I gazed longingly into the abyss
And saw you lying in despair's ruins.
Your spirit is broken.
Allegiance sworn to faith,
A soft fabric now worn ragged.
I know you're fearful
And plagued with paralyzing feelings
Of gloom and anguish.
I heard that desperate voice
Within you
Crying out to me
From a stygian, all-consuming darkness.
You're lost in a heaping rubble below,
But I still see you,
For you, I've written a note
The wind beneath my wings
Shall drift to you.
With my message,
I aim to pull you out
From the undertow of desolation,
To ease your mind
As things aren't as bad as they seem.
Bathe in my scintillating light!
I promise you,
The veil of darkness shall lift.
Now that I've found you,
I will never forsake you.
Have patience.
Have faith in me
And I'll give you wings
To fly, to float along
In the sky
With me.
