Hope Runs Out

he asked for so little
kept looking for the signs
just enough to show
she cared
and loved him

he kept looking
his heart
let down
sinking with every miss
he finally had to
admit defeat

she loved the bottle
and he just couldn’t compete

Most addictions lead back to our early childhood and how our parents treat their children. A child believes mom and dad. Whether they tell the child they are good or no good. We all deal with loneliness and depression in many different ways. <3

And this is exactly the case here. So sad.

When looking for solution in the bottle is that life is not going well ... there is hope, because hope there is always ...   Hope is the last that dies... salute alkas

So sad but that really does happen sometimes. I've had people in my family die from this legal drug, alcohol. It's just as bad as the illegal ones. Blessings for you and your inspiring poetry.
