I write to Him,
With a quiet pen…
Dear God, please hear my heart
the rhythmic beating,
however fleeting….
Hear the thump, thump, thump
praying for You to listen to the pulse,
the yearning for Your love…
I write to Him,
With a silence, still…
Washed in the feelings, the need
wondering why He chose to bleed
but my heart – it can read….
The beauty of a love that ever lives
Love so free and filled with gentleness,
Love that gives and gives and gives….
I write to Him,
With a hope, a note…
Brave and believing because He’s HIM,
the One who sees beyond my sin,
the One who forgives all I’ve been…
The light who stirs me to listen and believe,
where He is, that is where I want to be,
what He gives - is love that sets hearts free…
Free to simply breath
Free to pray, sincere
sure that, even the air…
knows the love that is beyond compare
His love is more than rare
It silences ever fear – wipes away every tear
Assures me that He’s there,
forever and always to share…
His grace, forgiving – answering my prayers
All those hope notes, written by a heart
who knows that Jesus came to the world –
for those of us who see…
love is all I need – love is all I believe
He is the love that colors my life in faith
Reminds me that He’s worthy of all my praise
Reassures me when I can’t find my way
Sends me comfort that will last through every storm
Leaves me with the promise of a heavenly home.
