Hope and Butterflies

Sadness falls, its colors oblique, we lust for joy, a smile we seek, a tender voice in anger's reigns we turn from hate and lies' refrains. In our world, changing as it dies, surviving: Hope and butterflies. February 16, 2022 For Bite Site Poem #36 Contest by Line Gauthier P.S. Syllable Counter Honorable Mention

A well of emotion here dear Ann . A tender voice in anger’s reigns …yes that is what the beckoning heart seeks . If only we could all be touched by those tender words . So much healing is possible. Beautiful! Hugs to you, Susan :)

Dear Susan, Thank you for your lovely remarks! The world has become difficult, and now the war and those brave people...almost too much. I read your poems to remind me there's still beauty :)

"In many cultures, white butterflies represent transformation, renewal, and rebirth. Some believe they are a sign of good fortune and a beacon of hope for the future." Lovely poem Ann and I really liked the title. Cheers - Gary

I think poets' minds are somehow connected. I wasn't online yesterday and hadn't checked contests in 2 or 3 days. I awoke today with a poem about hope wanting to be written. I included butterflies as their existence is as tenable as hope's. Imagine my surprise when, after submitting, I saw many Hope poems for a contest, and Andrea's about butterflies! I was amazed :)
