As I travel through the tumultuous sea of life,
When turned and tossed by the tides of strife,
When breakers rise and pounce to threaten me,
Hope descends on me as a beacon to make me free.
It appears before me as an anchor, holding me steady,
Thus, to navigate through the rough waves, I get ready.
Hope is a flame of light in the darkest night,
That sieves through the gloom as a flicker bright.
It lifts me up raising my spirits when I feel low,
And helps me overcome my pinching woe.
It is like a lullaby lulling my pain and putting me to sleep,
As a child when listening to the song forgets to weep.
With hope as my true and unwavering guide,
I shall sail to destinations far where my dreams reside.
Hope is the voice within me, whispering not to give up,
Even in dire situations when things may break up.
