Hope

Even though there is chaos that builds a wall
I still have hope
I have a friend who made a promise 
Of peace that overcomes all understanding
Even though darkness is getting darker
I still have hope
I have a friend who turns my darkness into light
Even though love has a short life span
I still have hope 
I have a friend who will love me forever
Even though uncertainty and confusion keep growing
I still have hope
I have a friend who never changes never lies
Even though my body is failing and unfaithful
I still have hope
I have a friend who heals my soul 
Even though anger darkens the smiling blue sky
I still have hope
I have a friend who created the smiling blue sky
Even though I am tired and want to sleep
I still have hope 
I have a friend who is faithful to help me across
