Hope

When disaster and attacks devastate our homes When our dreams of success are threatened When sickness and death stalk our loved ones She lifts up her head and points us forward When suffering and death seizes our vicinity And fear like foe threatens every possibility When doubts seizes upon our sensibility Her light brightens our visibility When fear like guest in our bosoms we host When depression becomes our lot and fate She appears from nowhere like a ghost And tarries with us to restores our faith She is life, she is light She shines bright through dark tunnel She is a companion through the dark night She is hope and she breaks every turmoil

This is a terrific example of personification. "She lifts up her head and points us forward" had me confused for a second; so I looked at the title and said to myself, he has a wonderful handle on this.

Wow, thank you very much Caren Krutsinger. You're a true friend and I am proud to be called as your friend. It is evident that I am not a professional poet, but I am willing to learn. Thanks for always taking time out of your busy schedule to read my poem. I don't take it for granted.
