Hooting Owl

Hooting owl sits on a tree branch Expecting a small lunch Meal runs quickly across the ground He swoops down to get it Attacks like a stealthy being Quiet as a calm breeze Surprise works best for this hunter Small game is his real treat Then later atop the high branch His belly full he hoots A pleasant sound for all to hear He compliments the night

Nature nut checking in. Imagery in this poem made me see the owl and his meal in my minds eye. Enjoyed the whole read except the eating of which I tried not to picture. (smile)

Great descriptive work about nature..I have an owl close by who occasionally hoots for me or is it those deer hunters practicing their calls..Enjoyed reading ..Thanks for the uplifting review of my work..Sara
