The half moon shimmered wanly as she wrote “Dearest, do you realize how much I miss you? How long will your trip abroad take? Here I am in empty rich, luxury mansion. A hovel with you would have been better. Or perhaps you do not love me anymore?” Thus the letter arrived in my posh Rome hotel. I could not help but let a lonely tear drop down And smudge the words written there. Why can’t I find the courage to write a full letter? Only fragments have I written, not worth sending. The show goes on and all around me were the so-called friends. Yet I have none, absolutely none. One day I’ll disappear, Leave Rome and go back to my home sweet home.

Sad write; my feeling is like Andrea's, makes it sound the love truly isn't there.

I really like this one, Victor, but seems the narrator does not quite love the lady as much as she loves him.

Even just a few words can seem like heaven when longing to hear from a loved one. Anywhere love is there is happiness. Have a blessed day on Father’s Day. xxoo

A beautifully told, melancholy tale of homesickness. Sometimes we have to travel far to realize how wonderful home is. Evelyn

Better to be in a hovel with a loved one than a lonely mansion!

Melancholic. With each breath reborn, shrug and move on!

Victor this is emotional and sad. I hope its just fiction and if its not hang in there and remember you best friend is Jesus, for he knows your pain and your heartache, and you were never alone, he was there with you. Reach out to him for comfort, he is more then a friend he is your other father. God bless you Victor, I will be praying you have peace and comfort, and good thoughts of good deeds in your life and not of the sad in your life...
