Home Body

time is a gift I appreciate
no matter what the source

these days I avoid asking questions
knowing I won’t like the answers
so I take a break from daily news
stay indoors in my cocoon
focus on things I like to do

my mind on overdrive
trying to get lots done
reassured nobody will drop in
no makeup or fancy getup
my body getting comfy adapting
to this state of constant weekend mode

The head of my department drove thirty-five miles to surprise me with an end of the year gift bag. Luckily it was the five minutes I was gone to pick up my husband from the auto shop. Most of them hide their faces from me, the little rats. I really hate teaching to people who will not show their faces.
