Hodgepodge Again

Over the pine trees the ball I threw
Neighbor’s bay window the ball went through

My neighbor asked me if I would?
Come over to his house, split a cord of wood

In the woodpile see the chipmunk pray
I do not want to be the Bald Eagle’s prey

From the woodpile a gagging scent
A payment my neighbor’s skunk had sent

This is cute and made me smile. Thank you so much for your comments and blessings. My husband changed jobs in the same field so it will work out. I just thought he put years and effort in the old job and the chance to move up is close but he out of the blue decided to go with a different company. Thanks for reminding me that I haven't posted lately. I will be grandma next month and knitting and cross stitching takes time. God Bless Phyl

Got a good chuckle out of this one. We played a lot of ball when I was growing up. Of course a broken window now and then couldn't be helped. Enjoyed this poem. Thank you for your kind words on my poetry. See your soup mail. Karen

This is so witty, HG!!! Like the way the neighbor "payed" you with the skunk's scent. I hear it's hard to get the smell out of clothing. Love this poem!
