His Sweet Gift
A sweet gesture of love from my gentle-man Star
Along with the groceries,
A big chocolate bar!
We're growing old, yet kindness embraces
After all of these years
Though we've lines on our faces
He makes me forget that I'm not a young girl
When his sweet little gestures of love
Spin my world
I wasn't beside him when he filled that cart
Nor seen the grand total that makes
Accounts smart
Watching each penny, and where each dime went
A few bags of groceries
A lot of cash spent
Yet I crossed his mind...a gift bought
for me
My dear Sweethearts love is
As Sweet as can be!
My gentle-man husband, to me, a rock star
Kind gestures of love
Are the sweetest by far!
