His Last Earthly Days

Following our precious Savior
on his journey to the cross
we don’t know where we are going
or the over-whelming loss.

We are shouting “Halleluiah”
as we hold palm branches high,
unaware our blessed Savior
knows He’s going forth to die.

At betrayal in the garden
He still heals the soldier’s ear
and before it even happens
He’s forgiven Peter’s fear.

On the Cross, he asks forgiveness
for all those who caused his death.
Forgiving of wicked sinners
was Lord Jesus to his death.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we were all able to emulate Jesus's compassion and love, Joyce. I don't know if you wrote this for John's contest, but he would surely enjoy reading this one for its spiritual value. Unconditional love is hard to find. Excellent work! Love, Carolyn
