Hours, upon the bench she sat,
a winter face, neath summer hat:
beneath, the source of her complaint
a scribbled sign; beware - wet paint

Simple ..but effective . I think you can get your point with short poems just as well as you can with a longer one. When a poem is too long it can be overwhelming. I love this one though!
