Hide and Seek

you’re on the one side and I am on the other....and we’re both looking in Wondering just how to find our way back to begin We’ve been casually captive, captively caged, conditioned by this charade Finalising even formalising the field trip that starts the end And even those silences, they no longer speak Because the noise once meant there was something I should hear But this tongue no longer teases - no longer talks And my ears deafened by simple defeat And the cable wire that was once our connection Serenades no signal " finds no frequency So now silence simply stalks me and no longer strangles me yet in all this I find no peace - rather only pieces of me
