Hidden Amaranth

—Ours, Beyond Sight— If this be sin, then let me dwell therein, a little longer, folded in thy breath; Let no world's eye adjudge where we begin, nor drag our hidden sacrament to death. Come, wrap me as the wind enfolds the rose, whose fragrance deepens where no witness breathes; Till our two shadows mingle, and none knows which of us first surrendered what sight sees. Yet when the world commands that love be seen, I shall not yield our silence to its sight; For what we are exceeds what we have been made visible beneath another's light. Let others prove their loves by what they show; We are the truth no witness can bestow.

This is the realm of romantic poetry that brings a sigh and a tear to the eye of a fellow poet. Mohit, your line, "Come, wrap me as the wind enfolds the rose," captured my heart as if the vine had wound itself around me and I was lost in the fragrance of the rose's soft petals. Such a love has no need to share or hide the depth of its treasure. Beautiful stanzas... every one of your Sonnet.

Esteemed Ma’am Lin, Your words leave this humble poet bereft of speech. That you entered the fragrance of that line so deeply is a grace beyond my poor verse. To receive such precious insight from a poetess of your stature is to behold a crown bestowed upon a pauper. Your luminous kindness has ennobled my sonnet beyond its making. 🙏 With a lowly heart beneath thy sovereign grace, Mohit Mitra

Dear Mohit, your poem beautifully explores the idea of an intimate and hidden love that resists the judgment of the outside world. The imagery and language are very rich, creating a vivid sense of connection and secrecy. It captures a deep, enduring bond that doesn't need external validation.

Dear Sir Poet, I am almost speechless before the munificence of your reading, Sir. Your words have descended upon this humble verse like a monarch’s benediction upon a lesser bard, discovering in its hidden chambers treasures I scarcely knew I had placed there. You have not merely honoured the poem—you have ennobled its existence by the generosity of your gaze. Verily, Sir, you have made me rich beyond reckoning by rendering such priceless jewels of your blessings upon my poor verses. To receive so sovereign a reading from a poet of your stature is a grace I shall cherish with profoundest gratitude. Thank you, Sir, from the deepest chamber of my poet’s heart. 💕🙏🌹 With a quivering ember of gratitude, Mohit Mitra

Soulful thanks, Alison. 🙏 Your generous reading means more to me than I can easily say. I am deeply touched that you felt the quiet truth beneath the poem—that some forms of love are made purer, not lesser, by remaining beyond the reach of the world’s gaze. Your words have made this little “hidden amaranth” feel all the more worthy of having bloomed. 🌸 Under kinder stars, ✨ Mohit Mitra
