He's Kind of Crazy

He's Kind Of Crazy
By Roy Merritt

The ambassador arrived at the presidential palace
A very humble man
He looked at the president and said. "Cuz
You gotta understand
Our president didn’t mean it
He’s a little off you see
He’s a little rocky up top
He’s kind of crazy

He really does like you folks
I’m telling you remain calm
He didn’t really mean it when he said
He was delivering you a nuclear bomb
He didn’t mean it when he talked about
Turning your land to glass
Didn’t mean when he said
He was givin’ you a nuclear blast

He didn’t mean it when he said
We’d be roundin’ you people up
And marching you into labor camps
And all kinds of other stuff
He’s a pal of that Ruskie
That fellow that was in the KGB
He thinks that’s way he should act
He’d like to get him some tyranny

And so the rest of us in US government
Want to give assurance let you know
We’ll do our level best
To keep him from the nuclear codes
We’ll do our level best
To keep a tight rein on this man
So pay no attention to what he says
We won’t let him give commands

We only got four years you know
To put up with this kook
Don’t all you folks in the world get panicked
Don’t let him get you spooked
We’ll keep him from the nuclear codes
We’ll keep him away from sharp things
We’ll keep him under scrutiny
To control his many mood swings

You folks got to understand
this guy is off quite a bit
He’s often talks like a whack job
He can’t control his lip
He’s kind of ridiculous
You certainly got to see
He’s sometimes out of his head
He’s kind of crazy

So don’t you worry about no mushroom clouds
Floatin’ over your head
Don’t you worry about him dropping no bomb
To kill all your people dead
Don’t worry we won’t let him do that
We’ll keep an eye on him
We’ll keep him busy doing other things
And we’ll take away his pen

And maybe in four years
We’ll have pulled our head out of our rear
And won’t let another fool like this
Anywhere the White House near
Maybe by then
We’ll have gotten our head on straight
And will have decided it’s a stupid thing
To have a lunatic the head of state

And maybe in four years
We’ll have pulled our head out of our rear
And won’t let another fool like this
Anywhere the White House near
Maybe by then
We’ll have gotten our head on straight
And will have decided it’s a stupid thing
To have a lunatic the head of state

Maybe by then
Welll have gotten our head on straight
And will have decided it’s a stupid thing
To have a lunatic the head of state!"
