Here I Am.

Here I am.

                                                 Here I am.

                                          I know where I stand.

I know where I want to be.

I know that the sky above shines light on me.

But what does he see in me?

                                                 Here I am.

                                                 Here I am.

I want to shout that out to him!

                                                 Here I am.

                                                 Here I am.

Does he really know, who I am?

Does he know that I stand in the rain and wait for him?

                                                 Here I am.

                                                 Here I am.

My heart will not stand up to him.

                                                 Here I am.

Madly in love with him, I am!

                                                 Here I am,

waiting for him to come rescue me from the storm that I

am in, waiting for him to bring out the sun again!

                                                Here I am.

Here's what worked. I moved away even though I loved him. When I thought about him, I made myself think about something else. When he wanted me back, without marriage, I said no and sucked up the pain. It finally went away... Then, love found me. Those people were right. I had to learn it the hard way. I'm an old lady, now. Hind sight is better than foresight. But learning from others is the greatest!!!! Good luck. Love, Dane

Emily, this poem is beautifully written. However, having felt feelings similar to the feelings that you have described in this poem and having lived through it. Plus, understanding pain that goes along with those feelings. I must give you the same advice that MANY people gave me. (Which I didn't follow, of course...) Forget about him and move one. Easier said than done, I know. ...continued
