Her Voice In the Night

A dark day
a twisted sky
the lightning crashes
the rain falls in sheets
and I am alone
but for the memory of you
a soft curl of dark red hair
a soft kiss on a freckled cheek
the light glinting off of hazel green eyes
I am alone
and yet you are with me
calling my name in the middle of the night
sending me a faint whiff of your favorite perfume
Oh how I miss you
Oh how I long to hold you once more
Oh how I long for your love

I love the blend of these lines: "but for the memory of you a soft curl of dark red hair"

"Thank you Francis, very glad it appealed to you. She was exactly the blending of those lines, soft, and curly, and red of hair, and I still welcome the hauntings of her memories."
