Hello October
October stirs her paints for autumn's blend
to soon create new landscapes on display.
Her cool, crisp air we share and now befriend;
become aware that autumn's here to stay.
Progressing soon, redressing of our trees
that summer-green no longer can sustain.
The beauty of October's painted leaves
will help to heal the loss-of-summer pain.
The orchards, filled with autumn's ripened gifts
now beckon us to pick them and consume.
Aroma, from sweet luscious pies, uplifts;
replaces missing scents of summer's bloom.
When our October ends, we'll realize
November will move in her winter skies.
