Heaven, He Could Reach

He had known despair before, The depths to which it plunged his faith. Still, His grace lived within his core, Heaven, he could reach. Driven, he had borne the fight, His honor drove him on. He raised his eyes with Him in sight, Heaven, he could reach. Grace showed him so much more Than hate and fear and dread. It bore him toward that shining door. Heaven, he could reach.

Linda, I also thought I would read your first submission here. I am with you that our honor and experience can drive us to do great things....or at least better ones. It is wonderful to at least try to emulate that spirit.

Thank you Duke. I sometimes go back and read what I wrote years prior. It is interesting. This one, I was thinking of our soldiers and their tireless efforts and accomplishments to keep us safe. :)
