~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Heaven isn’t so far from the present
It waits, not for the last breath
But for the first breath.. when the story
of forever, everlasting, eternity’s beginning
when death is a has-been,
and the new day, the new way, the new
for which we once prayed
is commencing, arising to portray
what is to be… the poetry of praise
the worship of One who is the rising Son
far more graceful and true, than the sunshine
who greets the dawn, the reflections
now long gone…
Heaven isn’t so far away, after all
She is here in the present day, in a moment
when I say…
reach out to the ones you love,
write your stories, your memories,
your tenderness and life’s intimacy
across the skies, so blue and alive
with the music,
pouring from the feelings
erasing every ending
so you can see, the forest and the trees
the song that never fades
this song that plays and plays
whispering life to those who can’t see
it is a story that writes in peace
it is a journey through the darkest grief
but it is God’s purpose – and I believe
He is alive and He sees every need
He is alive, despite the tomb’s greed
He is alive and I can see beyond that tree,
where He once died… but He came back
He rose from the tomb and painted the news,
“God is not dead and He’s alive to prove…
whatever might be said, He is the proof,
the darkness didn’t win and we’ll begin again
in that home on high, where no one ever dies
in that heavenly light, where there is no night
in that loving place, where there’s unending grace
and we’ll forever praise, this love that will amaze
this love that counts the days…
with a promise that never fades,
a promise that He made, when He rose from the grave
a promise of love that stays, come what may
love that never doubts – love that knows me, inside out
and gives me a perfect peace, because He is here for me
this love – it will never leave, because He is the King of Kings
and He always sings… eternally the Prince of Peace
always alive, and in victory, His voice can be heard
rising about the darkest grief, rising above the pain and sorrow
rising so that I will forever know… who holds my tomorrow
Heaven awaits and I know the One
Who’ll one day, take me home
The One who died and, in three days, arose
To show us all that He ended our fears
And, if we cling to Him, we’re forever in His care!
Peace on Earth is more than a prayer
He is love and love never forgets
What it means to leave the darkness
Enter the light where love has no shadow
The love and light where He is all that matters!
