Confessing my heart’s foolishness midst selfish ambition of whim’s futility my soul begs for God’s pardon with His guidance. Admitting my conceited arrogance springing from heart’s hypocrisy I’m humbled by the Lord’s exemplified meekness. Submitting to the Creator my heart’s carnal reign my spirit abides in His perfect will, molding me earnestly toward virtuous transformation. Surrendering my vested interests of temporal wealth my foolish heart seeks to gain I cleave to the Saviour for His favour. Recognizing my heart, verily deceitful* against Scriptures’ immutable truth faith seeks Christ’s wisdom for peaceful bliss.
*Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? February 13, 2021 1st place, "ALL YOURS (Mar 26)" Poetry Contest Sponsored by Brian Strand; judged on 3/26/2021.
