Heartbreak- Hotel

Am I not a speck of decaying dust falling aimlessly? In a rented room full of seeding sorrow, windows shut Thrown from the core of love, corridors filled with emptiness Where smoke rises and descends to occupy the slaving space And hearts halt to a near cardiac arrest, contorting cells Where the heavens meet their hells, before mourning breakfast arrives I rest on a baneful bed, bludgeoned by thoughts, sweating Then I awake with a shattered smile and coffee brewing Engulfed by loneliness the sun shines its tender light, again And dreams drift thru windows pane, beyond the gauzy glass. Feeling like a tiny particle in a place filled with everything. One could feel lost, lonely or even lifeless. Your thoughts say so much. This is beautiful and tender. Heartbreaking as well. Congratulations Winged Warrior, on this win. Love and Light. ~ Brandy

Hi John, an excellent write for the theme of the contest. Many will be able to relate to this piece. The sadness touches the heart deeply my friend. You have used the full scope of the free verse form. With your golde pen you put us in the heart of the scene and at the end of the piece your pen releases us with light. This write reads like a winner my friend. I hope you find yourself on the winners list. Have a wonderful Friday. Your friend always....Mike.

Heartbreak can hurt the heart and the soul W.W, but the fact that you woke up with a smile and to brewing coffee and a sun shining through your window pane, makes a dream just a dream but enough to achieve a win in the contest with. A great write. Poetry wishes and hugs, Jennifer.
