Heartbeat of America
Red white and blue – unity a sense of pride
The flag brings Viet Nam into my mind
I wish we would have been more supportive
To the young men and women who served
We can rectify that; hold our parades
Honor them, as they honored us
Some giving the ultimate sacrifice
Others loaning limbs and minds
United forever, all for one and one for all
Land where my fathers died, land of the pilgrim’s pride
My heart explodes with feelings of honor and courage
Hand over heart, I feel the heartbeat of America.
