~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Please silence the place in me that grumbles, The me that tries to be everything for everyone, The me that disagrees when a smile is placed before me, The me that compares my heart to others, The me who knows that love is alive inside my spirit… But then hears only the darkness when it calls me to listen. Please destroy the fear that lies in the depths of my heart, The feelings that make me so cautious I can’t truly let go, The losses that triumph because they’re winning in my soul, The discouragement that allows me to feel like I’ll never know… What it means to give with all my heart, give with the thought, That love is alive and it will forever survive - to bring my soul life. Please still the winds of distress, the gusts that bring anguish, The angst that troubles my grace and makes me so angry, The sorrows that take away my peace and bring me anxiety, The difficulties that dress in doubt and cause me to feel left out, The worries that sing suffering and hardship, grief that spoils, But realizes that, when I let myself, I can walk away from the worst. Please nourish my light with glimpses of a rainbow, a truth, a bloom, The whisper of music singing soothing, reassurance, beautiful, The psalms of the moment just before the dawn, the lingering twilight, The blessings found in spring, summer, autumn and even winter, The laughter of the rain and the flippancy of a July heat, Wonderful that comes from knowing there is love in each moment. Please quiet the nightmares who come to life in my dreams… When I’ve been left to my apprehension, my terrors, my phobias, The bad that refuses to be erased by the shadow of grace, The wonder in a moment before the breathless soothing, comforting, The tenderness of a tear, the rhythm of a prayer, the magnificent, The sincerity of astonished lights who never remember the darkness. Please remember me, dear Lord… remember me and my heart, The love that lingers inside when I think of the light You have brought, The love that shines so bright that I know You have – Yes, You’ve won. The love that singles me out to remember the kindness that I sought, The love that isn’t just mystery – it is life and hope and more… This is the love that restores my soul, the love that God showed… When peace on earth came down to us… peace who is Jesus, God’s One and Only Son! Merry Christmas! Remember that God has won!
