He Was Her Valentine

On this seasonal wonder
of a day, one arrow tipped
in celestial honey pricked
her pristine heart.

Mellifluous, shadows,
shoulders, hands
of gentle touch opened her
to aromatic atoms of love.

Into the night and forever,
her heart echoes thulian pink
in the aftermath
of a garnet beginning.

Colourful and sweet! Brilliant... within the constrictions of the contest. Nifty assonance and alliterations too. BRAVO Kathy!! Love you, Keith

Love the "arrow tipped with celestial honey." A colorful work that no mere paper card could convey. Love, daver

I love how you used these words Kathryn. A pink afterglow in her heart from the passion of deep red. Awesome!

Very touching excellent poem written by a very good poet. I saw that you view another poet named Margherita Russo she's only 14 and I know it would mean alot for her to have you read her newest poem if you have the time. Thank you very much.

Oh my, Kathyrn...the reference to earth's minerals, shining gems, etc. in the last verse just floors me!...Had to read this beauty several times!...Oops, just saw this is for a contest?...A true 'gem' nonetheless (you're kinda getting the hang of this poetry thing, aren't you?) Much love to you my friend - Tim

An interesting way to 'inspire' a poem... more rigid than other 'structures', I suppose...I don't think I'd be up to it... Nevertheless, you have made a very fine work, Kathy... nice imagery, I enjoyed it! Love Terry (plus, I learned a new word "thulian" - I had heard of "thulium" before, but I don't think thulium has a thulian hue...)
