He Should Have Bought the Shoes
* this is a true story that just appeared 10 minutes ago on my local news, and l couldn't help but write a quick poem about it.
He should have bought the shoes
My local news announced
the story of their day
a lady while out shopping
the perfume counter pounced
Apparently was sad
no Valentine from hubby
so seething all this time
no gift of shoes she had.
She felt it was her right
to have the best there was
so in the store she walked
and left without a fight
No makeup lady there
so in the bag it went
the £1,000 perfume
she felt it was her share
Her pictures on the news
the police are on her tail
Her husbands horrified
and wishes he bought the shoes !
