He Is Still On the Throne

The bricks for earth’s foundation
Weren’t made in masonry of any Nation
Benue Cement was not used
Neither was Ajaokuta iron
Part of the hard concrete

He cast the pillars of eternity
Before time zone saw limelight
Then laid the foundation of earth
He pitched His blazing throne
In unapproachable light; forever flaming
He is still on the throne!

Mountains may sink into the Oceans
Sea waves may surge in fury
Riding on the back of hurricane
Molten magma may belch
At quake of tectonic plates
To cook the ancient hills
He is still in control!

Sometimes pangs of pain and chaos
Lurks silently in thick darkness
To steal this life once gifted
The dark menacing sky stare
To return fleeting corpses of
Unanswered questions and pleas
He is still on the throne!

When the cry of his creatures
Rise on wings of genuine remorse
His heart melts in compassion
Then God stoops in majesty
To stuff their naked sores
With healing balm of ancient
And the land is healed
Just as they are healed.
