Notes About The Poem

Haza!

I just saw an article called,
“Being Smart Is Officially Sexy Again.”

Reading’s now considered a happy, shiny experience,
where once, it was considered a solitary, antisocial or
even lesbian activity.

Yes, after years of wellness-core and clean-girl aesthetics,
smart-girls are finally considered one of the juicier meats.

Haza!

That’s all we’ve ever really wanted.

“Peter, quick! Get a pic of me studying!”

If you were single and I less than 30, this sapiosexual would’ve been on a flight to have a cup of café coffee with you years ago. Spent a long weekend in Bartlesville, (it’s 50 miles north of Tulsa.) a five decades ago because of those criteria. Susan ran the Phillips Petroleum electron microscope back then. We’re still friends. Peter (your bf) is a fortunate man. <3

'Sapiosexual,' I had to look it up - what a great word, I could have used that a few days ago. Someday perhaps, we'll have teleportation - I hear Elon's working on it - THAT would be fun. If I were single - what a thought - that got me thinking for a hot minute. I think I'm the one who got lucky. =]

Huzzah, indeed. Beautiful smart girls have been the rage since 1920. Before that, chattel and witches. And intelligence can exhibit beauty untouched by external serendipity. Which fades faster: beauteous countenance or mega brain loquaciousness?

Oh, we're pulling out the big words now? I'm not THAT smart. =]
