Have I Ever Told You That
Have I ever told you that
… as you lie next to me
I know that you are cheating
…I have seen both you and she
I heard you talking on your phone
You’d no idea that I was home
darling this
and
darling that
Your soup my dear ~ in that I spat
It made me sick it made me sad
But watching as you sipped your soup
you smiled at me and said “Not bad”
you even asked if there was more
I smirked behind that kitchen door
I wished I’d put that cockroach in
to give your lunch that extra crunch
Together forever both you and me
Your cheating heart I could not foresee
I thought our love was strong and deep
Till death us do part our vows we would keep
Though you had other plans it seems
You called her name out in your dreams
Did you know I loved you so
and will not be the one to go
So as you eat up every morsel
so flavoursome and
so unique
A pinch of this ~ A pinch of that
Braised in wine ~ slow cooked with herbs
A Rat’tat’touile for a cheating rat
have I ever told you that…
This poem is totally fictional but my muse was certainly running naked through those bullrushes, haha…
