Haunted Woods

One night I walked with my girl upon a trail. Some night in Autumn we dared. Spirit of Halloween with us. We caught glimpses of spirits so weak and so frail. Right and wrong battle for control. Small cabins with light show human life. Thorn plants grab and cut like a knife. The trees whisper; they do not want us here. Animals scurry. Their eyes say it all. Humans traverse not in these woods. Rustling leaves and a cool breeze guide. The heavenly bodies stand watch this Fall. Firmly respect this haunted oasis. Each year it will bless us the same. And it asks for no ounce of fame. All of Autumn meets here in different ways. Our heads hurt, we longed for a pillow. Laid we down to sleep in Fall's bliss. We decided to spend the night. So we took shelter under a willow.
