Harnessing Space

They blasted off, breaking the bonds of Earth,
reaching for the edge of space
Cracking a hole in the great blue ceiling
that will nevermore be replaced.

Astronauts in their cloaks of pride,
bravery, their Tour de Force, in place.
The spirit of the first explorer, Alan Sheppard,
rode with them as they harnessed space.

Very striking, Ann, I really like 'breaking the bonds of Earth' and 'cloaks of pride' - and those last lines are perfect! Excellent title too~

Thank you so much, Michelle. I used to work in the missiles and space industry and everything about space excites me! It's our future! Take care, Ann
