Haole Heaven
Is it the same in Hale Ewa
Where the bars are slow to wind
Are the regulars still clever
As they chatter in the kind
Is the Alawai still flowing
With giant frogs still growing
To the ever pounding
Same resounding surf
Is Kaiser pink still covering
The Royal Hawaiian Hotel
Does the tiki bar still spin
Or is it all skyscrapers
and the sun just can’t get in?
Fifty years and counting
Since I stepped upon the sand
In baggy shorts and go aheads
Aloha shirt aflapping
With tomorrow looking grand
